英语专业学生毕业论文写作常见问题

根据Pit Corder的错误分析理论，根据错误发生的的原因，通常情况下把错误分为两类：语际错误(interlingual errors)和语内错误(intralingual errors)。学习者由于误用与母语具有共同特征的语言项目而产生的错误叫语际错误(或迁移错误)。在目的语内部所犯的错误称为语内错误(也称发展性错误)。
1. 错误分析
本文选择某校2009级英语专业应届某学生的毕业论文进行个案分析，该生在属班级77位学生中成绩处于中间水平。其论文的题目是A Contrastive Study of the Refusal Strategies between Chinese and English。笔者对本篇论文在语言表达上未做任何的修改，运用错误分析的研究方法描述和分析论文中的错误。 3. 1语内语言错误
语内语言错误与学习者的母语背景无关,它们源自目的语的语言结构,主要包括本体、文本和语篇错误。
1.1本体错误
本体错误指各种字母大小写和发音错误。本文中本体错误也存在，但较少，主要涉及拼写、书写、标点符号。
(1)拼写错误
例句：“In a monolingual situation where one language is supposed to be used by all members of the community, it can be easily observed that language varies with the usr and it also varies with the circumstance under which it is used, i.e…”。此句中 “usr”拼写错误。
(2)书写错误
例句：“So the purpose and significance doing of this thesis is offering people three refusal strategies in English and Chinese, …”。此句中“doing of” 应改为“of doing”。
(3)标点符号错误
例句：“According to the research, I get these results; there are three common points between the Refusal Strategies in English and Chinese”。此句就标点符号而言，“results”后不能用分号，应改为“According to the research, I get the result — there are three common points between the Refusal Strategies in English and Chinese”。
这些错误多数情况下并不是学生不懂造成的，是由于疏忽导致的。
1.2 文本错误
文本错误包括词汇错误和语法错误。词汇层面的错误涉及到意义关系 (sense relation)和词语搭配 (collocation) (James，2001)。意义关系主要和词汇的选择有关,词汇选择在很大程度上受母语词义的影响 ,即语义迁移。同时,词汇的选择还体现在搭配上。搭配指与某个词经常共同出现的词项(刘向红，2008)。
1.3 词汇错误
1)语义迁移
例句：“…, in this case the speaker believes that there is no need to take care of each other’s face, or feeling, …”。原句意思是“在这种情况下，说话者相信没有必要去照顾相互的脸面或感情。” 汉语似乎是通顺的，但“take care of” 原意始“照顾某人或照料某事”，不能照顾“face”或“feeling”，应改为“care about”。
2)搭配错误
例句：“… thus it can reduce the level of speaker’s strong attitude, …”。此句是使用了汉语的表达习惯，而英语中“strong” 不能修饰“attitude”，“reduce the level of”也不能与“attitude”搭配。 (2)语法层面的错误
语法层面的错误涉及到词的用法错误、句法错误、语态和时态错误。
1)词的用法错误
1.4 词性错误：
例句：“However，when people communication, they want to know the really meaning of the language”。 此句中“communication” 应改成“communicate”做when 从句中的谓语，“really”应该为“real”修饰名词“meaning”。
介词错误：
例句：“Because of to a learner, learning a foreign language not only needs to know the difference of language form, but also needs to understand the value behind of the language community”。 词句的“because”后的'“of”一词应省略。此句表明学生并没有把“because”和“because of”的用法区别开来。
分词错误：
例句：“Using appropriate refusal strategies can avoid embarrassed situation and
时态1.2%、语态2.5%、语篇错误5.8%。因此，从该生的论文写作反映出句法结构、词性、介词、分词、不定式的用法应该是写作课中语法教学的重要内容。
结语
本文采用错误分析理论对英语专业某学生的毕业论文写作中语言表达错误进行了个案分析。首先结合理论分析了学生毕业论文的错误类型，然后统计了各项错误所占比率情况，其目的在于更好地了解学生毕业论文写作存在的主要问题，并且针对性地解决问题。本研究对提高学生的书面语言表达能力有一定的指导意义。而书面语言表达能力的提高能有效地提高学生的论文质量，从而达到《高等学校英语专业教学大纲》关于毕业论文写作的各项要求。
