A Research on Netspeak from Sociolinguistic Perspective
Abstract
Recent years have seen the popularity and prevalence of a new form of language, which is defined as Netspeak, in the wake of the fast technological development of the computer and the internet. Not only in the Internet but also in our daily life, Netspeak is used by more and more people. This new linguistic phenomenon has aroused most concern from the society and people. It has also provided a new field for research in linguistic. This thesis makes a study on Netspeak from the sociolinguistic perspective.
Based on a large number of Netspeak expressions in English and Chinese available, Netspeak is discussed in three respects: lexicon, phonology and grammar, in detail. Because Netspeak has its advantages and disadvantages and people hold different attitude towards it, people’s attitude towards Netspeak are also explored in the thesis.

摘 要
由于计算机和因特网技术的'迅速发展,近年1种新形式语言正流行开来，这就是网络语言。这种新语言现象引起了社会和人们的关注。在日常生活中，特别是在使用计算机和因特网时，为了方便和快捷，这种语言逐渐被人们所接受。同时，网络语言也为语言研究提供了1个新领域。本文尝试从社会语言学角度分析网络语言。并具体从词汇、音韵、语法3个方面探析网络语言的特征。而且本文也分析了网络语言的优缺点及人们对网络语言的态度。
