摘 要：汪曾祺的小说，反映出来的是1种和平美。和平是1种宁静、1种温和、1种无激烈冲突的状态。小说所描写的宁静的自然环境，塑造的温和的人物形象、整体性的和美氛围以及小说从容的叙述语言都是这1特征的具体表现。小说之所以呈现出这1鲜明特征，1方面与传统思想文化对作家的影响有关，另1方面与作家个人阅历和气质有关，此外更与汪曾祺作为中国现代史上特殊1代知识分子的身份有关。总之，小说和平世界的完美构筑是与作家的平和心态分不开的。
