英汉禁忌语、委婉语的对比研究

Abstract
Euphemism is a popular language phenomenon in human language. For a long time, it has been an important part of study for many scholars from different aspects. Factually, euphemism originated from taboo. In the communication across cultures, we cant avoid meeting euphemisms and taboos. To Chinese people, it is very important to learn to use euphemism correctly and properly, so this paper analyzes its structures and characteristics. Then, this paper compares euphemism and taboo language of Chinese and English. By studying this language phenomenon, we cannot only improve our ability of comprehension, but also learn colorful culture and worldly wisdom of different society and communicate with foreigners freely and comfortably.

摘 要
委婉语的使用是人类语言的1种普遍现象，1直以来被许多学者研究，并且取得了很大成效。委婉语的产生大都是从禁忌开始的，当人们不原意说出禁忌的'事物而又不得不指明时，他们就会用动听的词来代替。不同的文化存在不同的禁忌语，因而也产生了不同的委婉语。本文从语用学的角读度探讨了英语委婉语的4项模糊交际功能：准确判断与模糊评估、含蓄劝告与温和建义、模糊说明、溶恰情感关系等。根据其特点和功能，本文着重从社会职业、社会现象、日常生活和交际等方面探讨了不同文化背景下禁忌语、委婉语的对比。通过研究这种语言现象及事态人情，以使我们在交际和阅读中能更准确掌握其功能，从而消除因不同语言而形成的理解上的障碍，进行自如流畅的交流，使交际更加得体有效。
